About the artwork:
I painted this watercolour painting whilst camping far away from city lights where the milky way is incredibly bright and beautiful.

About orcas:
Orcas can be seen in every ocean on the Earth, however different groups of orcas (ecotypes) often can’t communicate with each other and don’t typically breed with each other which puts small populations at risk. The New Zealand Coastal Ecotype consists of less than 200 individuals.
This group of orca is unique; they hunt different prey such as rays and have other distinctions.
The New Zealand orcas are classified as threatened.

10% from the purchase of this print will be donated to the Orca Research Trust in New Zealand.
The Orca Research Trust is run by Dr. Ingrid Visser, who dedicates her life to saving and studying orcas.
